Sub-National Committee Meeting

The 3^rd round of sub-national committee meetings were held in four IR areas. Schedule of sub-national committee meetings by date and area is addressed in the following table:

The meetings discussed overall status of implementation of IR including progress of IR, challenges in implementing the interventions, and potential solutions for addressing those challenges. Several decisions were taken regarding the  implementation of the interventions, as outlined below:

• Extend the number of evening sessions in other wards of zone 5 as the evening sessions are making significant contribution in increasing vaccination of slum children
• Organize the scheduled evening sessions that were missed due to political change
• Officials of zone-5 of DNCC should contact with EPI headquarter to resolve the issue of vaccine shortage
• All the ZD and UI children identified through using e-screening checklist should be vaccinated by concerned vaccinators as early as possible
• Organize supplementary immunization activities (such as crash program) as many as possible to ensure vaccination for all eligible children in rural hard-to-reach areas
• Provide vaccine to the children from Nalitabari fixed center for six days a week (instead of two days) as target of eligible children in this center is high
• icddr,b will organize training for newly recruited Health Assistants (HAs) and nurses in Dowarabazar. The training was completed as per decision of the sub-national committee meeting
• Continuation of discussion on ZD and UI as an agenda in monthly upazila and district-level meetings in all IR areas
